Recently, The Salvation Army in Central Arkansas distributed 240 food boxes and over $6,000 in gift cards to members of the community on Tuesday, July 21 at The Outlets of Little Rock.  This was made possible due to a partnership between The Salvation Army and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to help provide relief amid the COVID-19 pandemic.  Both organizations have worked together nationally and saw this as an opportunity to work together locally.

“Across Arkansas and Oklahoma, thousands are worried about where their next meal will come from.  They need food now.  So, to help meet that need, The Salvation Army is proud to partner with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Working together, we’re determined to make a difference for anyone, and everyone affected by this pandemic.” – Laurie Fried, Divisional Director of Emergency Disaster Services, Arkansas and Oklahoma Salvation Army.

Since mid-March, The Salvation Army in Central Arkansas has provided 10,642 meals, assisted 833 individuals, provided 1,455 nights of shelter, distributed 501 personal hygiene kits, conducted 1,042 client interviews, and distributed over 1,028 food boxes.
