Salvation Army Gives Vouchers to Flood Victims

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — – Natural disasters like this weekends floods can often leave victims without.

Lindsey Strong is the PR Director for the Northwest Arkansas Salvation Army. She said,  “It seems that they haven’t known that we give out flood services or haven’t been coming in for them. Maybe people are just now regrouping or looking for a place to come.”

The Salvation Army is known for stepping up during difficult times in peoples’ lives, but they offer more services than people probably realize.

Strong said,  “We can give them a voucher to one of our thrift stores to kind of look around and shop for things that they’re in need of and can kind of replace what they lost from the flooding.”

If you did lose something in the floods all you have to do is provide proof of the damage and you’ll receive a voucher to shop at one of the Northwest Arkansas thrift stores.

“They can come into our social service office that’s nearest where they live bring some kind of verification with them, a note from a landlord or the fire department saying that they did experience flooding,” said Strong.

Victims can bring their vouchers into one of the thrift stores and pick up clothes or kitchen items that need replaced.
